ABSTRACT

Water from the MOULAY YACOUB sulfur spring contains free, unoxidized hydrogen sulfide, a biologically active substance. It is a hot spring [53°C], with a high concentration of sodium chloride [29 g/l], and is radio-active. Spa treatment at MOULAY YACOUB has an important place in the management by long term therapeutic regimens, of patients with chronic respiratory disease [both upper tract: E.N.T., and lower tract: broncho-pulmonary], as well as in stomatology and social medecine. The very particular physico-chemical properties of this chloride-sulfide spring are such that a more precise set of indications should be established with the advent of the new thermal spring facilities soon to open their doors at this site
